Your 1-Stop Supplier & Installer of all surfaces

Kelowna’s semi-arid climate sets it apart from the rest of BC’s synthetic turf market. The city averages fewer than 300 mm of annual precipitation – less than a quarter of what Metro Vancouver receives – and summer temperatures regularly exceed 35°C. Irrigation restrictions are common during dry periods, which makes maintaining natural grass expensive and sometimes impractical. Synthetic turf eliminates that problem entirely: no irrigation, no brown dormancy period, and a consistent surface regardless of how dry the summer gets.
The golf culture in Kelowna is also genuinely strong. The city has more golf courses per capita than most Canadian cities, and the surrounding wine country estate properties create a premium residential market where a custom backyard putting green fits naturally into the outdoor living space. We design and install putting greens using golf-specific synthetic turf systems with directional nap control and integrated drainage – flat practice surfaces or custom contoured greens with multiple elevation changes, fringe areas, and chipping zones, depending on what the client wants.
One thing Kelowna’s climate requires that differs from coastal BC is attention to UV intensity and heat retention. The Okanagan’s strong sun and dry air mean turf fibres and infill materials need to be specified for higher UV exposure than a Lower Mainland installation would require. We select systems rated for Kelowna’s sun intensity, and for sports surfaces, we consider infill options that manage heat retention in the summer months. Winter freeze-thaw cycling in Kelowna is also significant – the base and drainage design accounts for both the dry summer and the cold shoulder seasons.

We install golf-specific synthetic turf systems with directional nap control and integrated drainage. You can choose a flat practice surface or a custom contoured green with elevation changes, fringe turf, chipping zones, and multiple pin positions. We assess the site, design the layout, and handle civil work, drainage, and surfacing under one project. The result plays similarly to a real putting green and doesn’t require irrigation, mowing, or aeration.
It can, depending on the product specified. We select turf fibres and infill materials rated for Kelowna’s UV intensity and summer temperatures. For sports surfaces, we also consider infill options that manage heat retention – some infill systems stay cooler than others in direct sun. This is part of the product selection discussion during the design consultation.
It can affect the base if it’s not engineered for it. Kelowna’s shoulder seasons bring freeze-thaw cycling that can heave a poorly designed sub-base. We engineer the base for Kelowna’s specific temperature range and drainage conditions – the same care we apply in colder prairie cities, adapted for the Okanagan’s climate.
Yes. We build standalone pickleball courts and combined tennis/pickleball setups for residential properties, clubs, and recreation facilities in Kelowna. Pickleball has a strong and growing presence in the Okanagan, and we’ve handled a range of court sizes and configurations here.
