What’s Different About Building in Vancouver

Most of our Vancouver projects don’t look like a standard open-lot installation. Each of those environments requires a genuinely different approach.

Rooftop and balcony installations need turf systems rated for the building’s structural load limit and verified compatible with the waterproofing membrane beneath. Using the wrong turf assembly on a rooftop can void the building’s waterproofing warranty, so we confirm compatibility before specifying any system. Sloped parkland requires drainage that manages water movement across the slope rather than simply downward through the base. And courtyard projects in the downtown core often involve constrained equipment access, phased work schedules, and close coordination with building management.

Vancouver also receives substantial annual rainfall. For any sports field or recreation surface, that means proper drainage engineering isn’t optional – standing water damages infill, creates uneven settlement, and shortens the effective life of the installation.
